Richard R. Swann Named an Orlando Top Lawyer
Mr. Swann has 50 years of experience in probate, real estate and administrative law.
He was appointed by President Jimmy Carter, confirmed by the United States Senate, as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC).

In addition to receiving an AV Preeminent Attorneys 2011 Judicial Plaque, he was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry. In preparation for a career in law, Mr. Swann received BA and JD degrees from Duke University. Mr. Swann parlays more than five decades of experience into probate, real estate and administrative law. He is especially adept at handling transactional work for business entities.
Throughout his career, Mr. Swann has been active in public policy and service. He has previously served as a member of the Orange County Budget Commission, a member of the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority, and a member of the Florida High Speed Raid Commission. He was appointed by President Jimmy Carter, confirmed by the United States Senate, as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) and was designated by OPIC to be its designated member of the Overseas Investment Reinsurance Group. Mr. Swann maintains his affiliation with Duke University, primarily with Duke's School of Law and the Sanford School of Public Policy upon whose board he has previously served. He also has served as the Director of Florida Next Foundation, Chairman of the Orlando Museum of Art and numerous other civic organizations throughout his career.
In addition, Mr. Swann currently serves on the boards of business entities of Columbia Land and Development Company, Inc., Surrey Homes, Commercial Vehicle Insurance Company of South Carolina, Property General, Inc., City Cab Company of Orlando, Inc. and Yellow Cab Company of Orlando, Inc.
