Isaac Kalvaria, MD, FACG Listed in Florida's Top 10 Doctors in Gastroenterology

    SARASOTA, FL, December 23, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Isaac Kalvaria, Physician and Gastroenterologist with Sarasota Digestive Health Specialists and founding member of its umbrella organization Florida Digestive Health Specialists has been recognized for showing his dedication, leadership and excellence in gastroenterology.

Drawing on more than 39 years of experience practicing in four countries, Dr. Kalvaria specializes in all disorders of the gastro-intestinal tract. A respected expert in advanced endoscopy, acid reflux, inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome, Dr. Kalvaria has published many articles in peer-reviewed journals regarding a wide variety of gastro-intestinal disorders.

Dr. Kalvaria became interested in medicine as a child, and chose to pursue gastroenterology because he often heard people complaining about bowel problems and wanted to find a way to help. Dr. Kalvaria received a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree (with Honors) from the University of Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) in 1975. He completed a Residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa where he obtained his Fellowship of the College of Physicians of South Africa. He is also licensed through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of England.

Recently inducted into Worldwide Registry, Dr. Kalvaria maintains affiliation with the American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Florida Gastroenterologic Society, of which he is a former President. He is Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology. He has twice served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. In recognition of his commitment to medicine, Dr. Kalvaria was listed in Florida's Top 10 Doctors in Gastroenterology by Vitals in 2014, and has maintained the title of Top Doctor through Castle Connolly for more than a decade.
