COLOMBO, SRI LANKA, January 04, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Celebrating its third consecutive year, The prestigious Global Commerce Excellence Awards was held on Monday the 15th of December at Galadari Hotel initiated and guided by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal. JKCS; the Software services arm of John Keells Holdings was recognized at the ceremony amongst the chosen leading commercial entities in Sri Lanka for its outstanding contribution in support of the country's economy during the war stricken period.
The bi-annual event is a platform established to recognize the companies, institutions and banks including the public sector along with individuals who have contributed in a large scale to support the country's GDP growth. The concept is a brain child of the CBSL Governor established after the 30 year conflict in appreciation of both local and foreign entities and individuals operating for revenue generation in support of the economy prior to 2009. Over 100 such organizations and individuals are nominated each year at the event.
JKCS was acknowledged for its contribution to the growth in Sri Lanka's IT/BPO sector. Actively engaging in Resourcing and Software Development services the company is also an acknowledged regional leader in Aviation and passenger services solutions catering to a wide spectrum of airlines and Airports worldwide. JKCS was also the Overall Gold winners of BCS National Best Quality Software Awards back in 2012.

2014's edition of the ceremony was in special commemoration of Sri Lankan exporters of multiple sectors including, bankers, service providers, state institutions providing trade facilitation, news and business magazines, brands, investors and individuals related to global commerce excellence.
