Jamie K. Von Ellen Honored as a Leader in Family Law

    SPRINGFIELD, NJ, January 09, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Attorney Jamie K. Von Ellen has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in family law.

Ms. Von Ellen has been a practicing attorney since 1986. She works with family law clients in an attempt to assist them in resolving issues with the least amount of difficulty possible. When feasible, she prefers the process known as Collaborative Divorce, which has recently been enacted into law in New Jersey. Through this procedure, couples that have decided to end their marriage can, with the aid of lawyers and other family professionals, avoid the traditional adversarial process and instead work to reach resolution that protects the client and also allows the family to transition successfully. Ms. Von Ellen recognizes that some matters require court involvement and she has three decades of litigation experience. A dedicated and caring professional, Ms. Von Ellen helps her clients determine the approach that best suits their needs. She has published many articles on family law-related topics and lectured extensively on various family law issues throughout the state of New Jersey. Earlier this year, she was named a 2014 Top 10 Family Law Attorney in New Jersey by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys. She has also been named a SuperLawyer each year since 2005 and was singled out for inclusion in SuperLawyers' "Top 50: 2009 Women New Jersey Super Lawyers."

Ms. Von Ellen received her JD from Albany Law School in 1986 and a Bachelor of Arts from SUNY Albany, where she graduated cum laude, in 1982. She is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Matrimonial Law Attorney. She received her training as a mediator through the Institute for Dispute Resolution at Seton Hall University Law School in 1996 and as an arbitrator through the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in 2010. She also received training in Collaborative Divorce through the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education. Ms. Von Ellen served as chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association's Professionalism Committee, and is a member of the Executive Committee of its Family Law section. Ms. Von Ellen is also a member of the New Jersey Divorce Arbitrators Association, the New Jersey Collaborative Law Group, the New Jersey Law Center for Collaborative Divorce and Mediation, the Family Lawyers Committee of the Union County Bar Association and the Middlesex County Bar Association. She is also a panelist of the Early Settlement Program's Matrimonial Division in Union and Middlesex Counties.
