This data from this report indicates that the number of government bids and RFPs have doubled year over year since 2012.

2012: 33 government bids issued in the US.
2014: 86 government bids issued in the US, ~50% growth year over year since 2012. Prior to 2012, there were very few purchases of body-worn cameras.
Some areas are already in the process of implementing body-worn cameras across the United States:
Illinois and Ohio issued the most government bids for body-worn cameras in 2012 and 2013. In 2014, Texas issued the most bids and RFPs. As of 2014, every major metropolitan area in Texas has issued bids, RFPs or RFIs for body-worn cameras.
