Ms. Varela has spent more than two decades honing her skills in commercial litigation, construction and lien-related matters, working with home owners and condominium associations on a variety of legal issues, and in the area of business torts. In her current role, Ms. Varela works in the commercial litigation group handling cases such as business torts, complex and general commercial litigation, contract disputes, creditor's rights in bankruptcy, intellectual property litigation, personal injury and wrongful death, probate and trust litigation, real property disputes, HOA and condominium litigation, commercial/residential foreclosures and evictions. Ms. Varela received her J.D. from the University of Florida College of Law in Gainesville after earning a Bachelor of Arts from the same prestigious institute of higher learning. She was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry and also maintained affiliations with the Justice Teaching Project from 2006 to 2008, the James C. Adkins American Inn of Court 1999 to 2002, and the Board of Directors of the 8th Judicial Circuit Bar Association from 1999 to 2002. She was also previously affiliated with the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers from 1996 to 2002, and maintains her memberships in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the United States District Court for the Southern District Florida, and United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, all Bankruptcy Courts in Florida, and the Florida Bar. Moreover, Ms. Varela is in her second elected term as a member of the Board of Directors of the Broward County Bar Association, and maintains memberships in the Stephan R. Booher Inn of Court, and the Broward County Women Lawyers Association. Ms. Varela is an AV Preeminent Rated Attorney, as accredited by Martindale Hubbell, and she recently celebrated her 20th anniversary serving her community (2014).
