Since the 2012 McKinsey survey, nearly 4/10 consumers are now fearful of losing their jobs, which is an increase from 31% in 2012 and 40% of those surveyed report cutting spending or delaying major purchases in order to just get by. Currently, only 23% of consumers are optimistic about the economy.
