RALEIGH, NC, January 16, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- After announcing his candidacy last week for the 2015 Man of the Year Campaign to benefit the North Carolina Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), John P. Billiter, today announced his team, Team YOLO (You Only Live Once), give everyone a fighting chance. Billiter, a Financial Advisor and Portfolio Manager with UBS Financial Services and longtime resident of Raleigh, North Carolina, named the following volunteers, who have agreed to serve as his core team:
- Christina Motley, CEO & CMO of Christina Motley & Associates, will serve as John's campaign manager and Chief Marketing Officer.
- Megan Chester, Creative Director with Christina Motley & Associates, will be the campaign's creative director.
- Michelle Congleton, owner of Congleton Law, P.C., Founder and Chair of Models for Charity and a Relator with Dream Living Realty, will coordinate and host a spring fashion show to raise money for the campaign.
- Sesha Gaston, a marketing research specialist with DPM in Chapel Hill and former LLS Woman of the Year, will serve as Billiter's go to resource and mentor.
- Ashley Hudson, the manager for North Carolina State University's (NCSU) Technology Incubator, will help the team and provide support as needed.
- Lesley Ireland, Associate Director of events for the Foundation Fighting Blindness, will serve as campaign co-chair and fundraising expert, and
- Ben Link, a Financial Advisor and Portfolio Manager with UBS Financial Services, will help the team and provide support as needed.
Billiter lost his father, who was only 51, on December 17, 1997 due to complications with leukemia. He hopes to raise at least $100,000 to help save lives, find a cure and link fundraising to an LLS-funded research portfolio in honor of his father.
The campaign officially kicks off March 5 and ends May 16, 2015. Billiter is one of 13 candidates this year.
