Upon reflecting on a rewarding career, Mr. Shapiro has come to attribute his success to hard work and a desire to help people. Having earned a degree in journalism, he worked for a local paper where he met an attorney that inspired him to pursue law. Early in his career, he championed the First Amendment defended the victims of caretaker carelessness.
Mr. Shapiro received a JD from the Florida State University College of Law, and graduated with Honors; he also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from the College of Journalism at the University of Florida. He is Board Certified through the Florida Bar, and he was admitted to practice in all of the Florida State Courts, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the United States Court of Appeal for the Eleventh Circuit. Mr. Shapiro was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry and also maintains affiliation with the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the American Association of Justice. Mr. Shapiro is an Eagle Member of The Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, and a member of the Florida Justice Association, The American Bar Association, The Sarasota Bar Association and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He was inducted into Tampa Bay's Top Lawyers and named an AV-Rated Civil Trial Lawyer, as well.
