CHICAGO, IL, January 20, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- MPA has named Susan Nedza, MD, MBA, as Senior Vice President of Clinical Outcomes Management. Dr. Nedza's principal responsibilities will be to lead the firm's work in the areas of clinical quality assessment and improvement, bundled payments, and comparative effectiveness. Her unique background and skill set will assist clients in realigning incentives to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of health care.

At CMS, she focused her efforts on the launch of the Medicare Drug Benefit at the regional level and the design and implementation of the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (now the PQRS) at the national level. Dr. Nedza's experiences include working as an emergency medicine specialist, Chief Medical Officer at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Senior Executive at the American Medical Association (AMA), and as a Health Information Technology Executive. She is board-certified in emergency medicine and clinical informatics.
She has served as a member of panels at the Institute of Medicine, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, The Joint Commission, The National Business Group on Health and most recently at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. She has given numerous national and international lectures on health policy and quality and has published a number of peer-reviewed articles as well as authored textbook chapters in the area of quality and patient safety.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Gannon University and her doctorate from Loyola-Stritch School of Medicine. Dr. Nedza also completed the Executive Master's Program at the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
