"Personally, it's message means a lot, as it's the last piece of closure to a long-time friendship. This shows a more ambient, darker-toned side of us that we've never done."
TULSA, OK, January 20, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Oklahoma's budding rock group, FM Pilots, will release their latest single and self-produced music video, "Start Up", via iTunes, YouTube, and all major digital outlets on Tuesday, January 20th. The band will also follow up on this digital release locally with a video release show at the Hunt Club in Tulsa on January 31st.
"Start Up" will be the last preview for their upcoming record, projected for release in Spring 2015. "It was really important to showcase this song before the album," says singer/songwriter Nick Whitaker, "Personally, it's message means a lot, as it's the last piece of closure to a long-time friendship. This shows a more ambient, darker-toned side of us that we've never done."
Nick Whitaker and Joshua Kephart, who were friends well established in the local music community, founded the band in 2010. The rhythmic backbone of the group is stronger than ever with recruited members, Joe Blanck and Cody David, both former music students at Oklahoma City's ACM@UCO. The group recently distributed countless albums through pre-loaded Mach Speed Technology MP3 players and tablets that have been top sellers in stores nationwide in the US. In their 5 years, the band has landed spots on Vans Warped Tour, showcases at SXSW music week, Center of The Universe Festival, Chevy Music Showcase, and even joined with notable acts such as Neon Trees, Mutemath, AWOLNATION, Twenty One Pilots, Hot Chelle Rae, and OK GO.
