Benjamin K. Phipps Founded Phipps & Howell in 1965

    TALLAHASSEE, FL, January 20, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Benjamin K. Phipps, Senior Partner at Phipps & Howell has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in law.

With five decades of experience in his field, Mr. Phipps is known for his expertise in state and local taxation. He represents taxpayers in litigation, planning, and before the legislature. Furthermore, he consults with trade associations and corporations who are interested in the formation and drafting of tax legislation or regulations.

Since the age of 13, Mr. Phipps knew he wanted to be a lawyer. Following through in his academic career, he earned an LLB from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1958 and a CMI Designation in Property Tax from the Institute of Professionals in Taxation.

Mr. Phipps is a director of the Florida Council of Property Tax Lawyers. He was Chair of the Tax Section of the Florida Bar and Chair of the Editorial Board of the Florida Bar News/Journal. Mr. Phipps has been included in "Best Lawyers" since 2012, Florida's "Legal Elite" since 2011, and he has been ranked as "preeminent" by Martindale Hubble for many years. He is also listed in Who's Who in America.

He is active, outside of law, in historic preservation and supports the Museum of Florida History, and the arts.

When asked, Mr. Phipps stated that he had no plans to retire.
