Mr. Obear became involved in his profession while on active duty as an enlisted member in the United States Air Force; he took advantage of the educational opportunities available to him under the G.I Bill. While pursuing his bachelor's degree, he knew he wanted to further his education that would lead him to further opportunities. He then transferred to the reserves while attending law school. He became a Judge Advocate General lawyer, initially as a prosecutor for two years, but then discovered his love for defense work and working with people. As the chief of military justice, he was responsible for the prosecution of military members under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. He also held an appointment as a Special Assistant United States Attorney, prosecuting civilians under federal jurisdiction.
A shining example of success in his field, Mr. Obear received his JD from the University of Buffalo's School of Law in 1994. He has recently been inducted into the Worldwide Registry for his many accomplishments. Remarkably, he has been featured as a Wisconsin Super Lawyer every year since 2007 and has been listed among the Top Attorneys in Wisconsin in 2012 and 2013. Impressively, he was also featured in Milwaukee Magazine and was listed among the Top Attorneys in Wisconsin in 2011.
