Anita Merrill Recognized as Professional of the Year by Capital Who's Who

    ALBANY, NY, January 30, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anita Merrill is the Chief Medical Technologist with the University of Georgia Veterinary Diagnostic and Investigational Laboratory.

Ms. Anita Merrill earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology from Berry College becoming a Registered Medical Technologist. Ms. Merrill completed her Medical Technology internship with Crawford W. Long Hospital, a unit of Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Ms. Merrill is a registered Medical Technologist with over 40 years of outstanding contributions in the field Medical Technology. Anita worked to develop the Clinical Pathology Department in the Tifton Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, incorporating departments in Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, Endocrinology, Parasitology, and Cytology Studies. With exemplary management skills and her vast knowledge, Anita Merrill has participated in many research wildlife projects and served as a contributing editor on these studies.

Ms. Anita Merrill is a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and The National Certification Association and American Association of Clinical Chemistry with (AACC) Veterinary Section (DACC). She is a former member of the American Chemical Society (ACS) where she held several leadership positions. While an active member of Tifton Sigma XI Club, Ms. Merrill was awarded the Outstanding Service to Research Award and recently received the Staff Appreciation Award from the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine for her many contributions. Additionally, Ms. Anita Merrill has coordinated National Chemistry Week hands on demonstrations for Grammar School students and arranged tours at Merck Pharmacology QC Labs and Busch QC Labs for High School chemistry students in the area.

Anita Merrill is well respected among her peers for her contributions as a Medical Technologist and educator.
