Gene Sloan, MD, FACS, Named a Top 10 Plastic Surgeon in Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK, AR, February 04, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gene Sloan, MD, FACS with Aesthetic Plastic Surgery has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in cosmetic surgery.
Drawing on more than 29 years of experience, Dr. Sloan is regarded as an expert in breast implant surgery and revisions, as well as breast augmentations and secondary breast implant surgery. Throughout the course of his career, he has performed more than 4,000 breast implant procedures. As a scientific investigator for the Food and Drug Administration, Dr. Sloan was instrumental in the studies that led to the approval of silicone and saline breast implants. He is noted as the only Arkansas physician to serve on the physician advisory board of the world's largest breast implant manufacturer.
Dr. Sloan's initial interest in medicine came from his father, who worked as a country doctor in Arkansas. While Dr. Sloan was in high school, one of the leaders of his Boy Scout troop was a radiologist, which guided him toward a career in radiology. He began working as a surgical technician, and later became interested in plastic surgery. To prepare him for a career in medicine, Dr. Sloan received an MD from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1985, and completed training in plastic surgery at the Nottingham City Hospital in 1991. Dr. Sloan was first certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc. in 1995.
Recently inducted into Worldwide Registry, Dr. Sloan also maintains affiliation with the American College of Surgeons, The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, American Society of Plastic Surgeons and The Dr. Ralph Millard Plastic Surgery Society. In 2014, he was recognized as one of Arkansas' Top 10 Plastic Surgeons by Vitals, and received the title of Most Compassionate Doctor from 2012 to 2014. In the coming years, Dr. Sloan would like to stay on the cutting edge of technology, and maintain the practice.
