Georgia CPAs Gather for The Georgia Society's CPA Day at the Gold Dome

    ATLANTA, GA, February 05, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- More than 100 CPA members of The Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA) from across the state met recently at the Georgia State Capitol in honor of the 2015 CPA Day at the Gold Dome.

Hosted by The Georgia Society of CPAs, CPA Day places attendees in a position to offer their elected officials their valuable input and expertise on the issues that they face on a daily basis. The agenda for the event included insight from high-profile House Majority Leader Rep. Larry O'Neal (R-Bonaire), as well as three Georgia CPA legislators: Rep. David Knight, (R-Griffin), Rep. John Carson (R-Marietta), and Rep. David Wilkerson, (D-Austell). GSCPA members also had the opportunity to shake hands with Governor Nathan Deal as well as meet and hear from the newly appointed Department of Revenue Commissioner, Lynne Riley.

"CPA Day is a symbolic event for CPAs throughout the state. This opportunity provides GSCPA members with the ability to act as legislative consultants, advocates, and opinion shapers for Georgia's legislators," said Boyd Search, CEO of The Georgia Society of CPAs.

The Georgia Society of CPAs prides itself on acting as a voice for the CPA profession in Georgia as well as advocating for the interests of its members and Georgia's business community before regulatory and legislative bodies.

"It means a lot to the Georgia General Assembly to hear from CPAs on their knowledge and experience of the respective industries they serve as well as on tax matters. Other highlights from the agenda included a networking breakfast and the opportunity for members to meet one-on-one with their individual elected officials.
