Like any great book the story can sometimes become the backdrop for the characters which was the case with R Kane's first book Runner and such it is with Ancient.
ATLANTA, GA, February 07, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In his usual smooth and streamlined style, R. Kane delivers another fast paced novel that draws the readers into the plot with the main character Alexander the Great, now a very old vampire. At the beginning the reader is drawn into the story of the ancient Nosferatu and the growing special relationship to a young fourteen year old girl he must protect and keep safe from the evil that follows her after waking from a 130 year sleep. The readers will be pulled into the hazards of the vampire's attempts to save his friend and her family from an unjust fate and it's those actions that attract the hateful eyes of an enemy as old as the vampire himself. The Grand Lich Akhenaton hasn't forgotten his old nemesis in the Ancient One and he intends to end Alexander with the help of four young Werewolves.
This book excels on many fronts, but the devotedness that R Kane extends to the characters is the most telling. From the shy and unimposing Wilma Jackson to the good-natured street preacher Leland who helps Alexander navigate this new world he has awoken to, the intricate characters take over. Like any great book the story can sometimes become the backdrop for the characters which was the case with R Kane's first book Runner and such it is with Ancient. A reader might have to actually decide, is it the story or the characters that makes these books so good.
This wonderful read is an eBook from an independent author who looks to thrill and inspire us even more with his second effort. With the growing self-publishing industry and the internet, R. Kane may not be independent for long.
