BOISE, ID, February 09, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Idaho Society of Clinical Oncology (ISCO) began its monthly statewide virtual personalized tumor board on February 2, 2015. The personalized medicine multidisciplinary tumor board was created to promote and foster the exchange of ideas among healthcare professionals in order to improve treatment planning for difficult cancer cases.
Tumor board is a patient care conference attended by physicians from different specialties. Dr. Binay Shah, ISCO President, presented on a patient with advanced lung cancer. Physicians and pharmacists from three cancer centers in Idaho attended the meeting and discussed management of the patient.
