Aquagenx Is Exhibiting at the 2015 Medical RDA in Support of the Warfighter Conference That Showcases Technologies That Improve Military Health Care on the Battlefield

    CHAPEL HILL, NC, February 11, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Aquagenx, a provider of innovative microbial water quality testing products that detect potential health risks, is exhibiting the Compartment Bag Test (CBT) at the 2015 Medical RDA in Support of the Warfighter Conference. The conference is co-hosted by the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) and the US Army Medical Research and Material Command (USAMRMC). It will be held in Hyattsville, Maryland from March 23-25, 2015.

Medical RDA in Support of the Warfighter provides a forum for industry and government to have an active dialog to identify technologies that meet the future needs of the warfighter, beginning at point-of-injury through long term care.

The Compartment Bag Test is a tactical water quality test for the military to detect E. coli bacteria in drinking water to determine if water poses a health risk. It is used by military field operations and medical support personnel to evaluate water sources and supplies to ensure drinking water is safe and free from bacteriological contamination.

"Unlike other field tests for water quality, the CBT is remarkably compact and light weight to carry in troops' kits, and doesn't require extra, cumbersome equipment like incubators and UV lamps. It's very simple to use, and doesn't need electricity or labs to generate quantified test results in any setting."

Aquagenx recently exhibited the CBT at the Special Operations Medical Association and Scientific Assembly (SOMSA) and SMART PROC '14, which connects government, industry and academia.

The CBT was recognized by the U.S. Water Partnership as an Exemplary U.S. Water Technology, received a USAID Pioneers Prize Honorable Mention and a LAUNCH Water Innovation Prize. The test was also featured in the USAID 2013 innovations catalog.
