RALEIGH, NC, February 13, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Raleigh law firm Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP announced today that it recently donated 30 computers to Ligon GT Magnet Middle School. In 2014, the firm also donated 30 computers to William G. Enloe High School, another Wake County public school.
The computers have replaced 30 older workstations in Ligon's Media Center that were unable to upgrade to Windows 7. Computers in the Media Center are in constant use throughout the day by students working on school-related assignments. Having newer, faster machines allows them to gather information and complete work more efficiently, giving more students the opportunity to use the computers as a resource.
"We thank Parker Poe for kindly providing this donation," said William Bishop, the media specialist at Ligon Middle School. "The Media Center should be a place where students can effectively do research and work on projects. We are able to provide this now due to the newer-model computers that have significantly upgraded our media capabilities."
Parker Poe had computers available to donate to Ligon Middle School after moving to a new office at PNC Plaza in downtown Raleigh. The new space boasts a number of high-tech features, in addition to its contemporary design and forward-thinking layout.
"We are grateful for the opportunity to provide computers to another local school," said Kevin Chignell, Managing Partner of Parker Poe's Raleigh office. "Ligon deserves to have upgraded computers in its Media Center, and we hope the students will benefit from having newer workstations."
