Tenenbaum Law, P.C. provides legal services to individuals and businesses for a variety of tax controversy matters. Ms. Tenenbaum brings three decades of experience to her executive leadership position at the firm, as well as a proficiency in the areas of IRS and New York tax issues. Throughout the course of her daily duties, she oversees the firm's handling of a host of issues, including New York State non-resident income tax audits, installment agreements, payroll tax issues, New York State and IRS offers in compromise, trust fund recovery penalties, assistance for non-filers, innocent spouse requests, New York State sales tax audits, and federal and New York State tax liens, levies and wage garnishments.
Ms. Tenenbaum's lifelong interest in business led her to study accounting in college. She then pursued a law degree while completing her qualifications as a Certified Public Accountant. She obtained a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law. Recently, she was inducted into the Worldwide Registry and also maintains affiliations with the Nassau County Bar Association and the IRS Long Island Practitioner Liaison Group. She is a former Board Member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSPCA), Nassau Chapter, as well as a past co-chair of the NYSSCPA, Nassau Chapter, Joint Committee of Attorneys and Accountants, and past chair of the Nassau County Bar Association, Tax Law Committee.
Ms. Tenenbaum also has a passion for encouraging financial literacy in school age children. She was the first and is the current chair of the Financial Literacy Committee of the NYSSCPA, Nassau Chapter, and was a co-founder of Commerce Plaza, Inc., a non-profit organization assisting children in learning about business and careers. Looking ahead, she intends to continue assisting small businesses and individual taxpayers through seeking to resolve their tax problems.
