CAMARILLO, CA, February 22, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Economic Development Collaborative-Ventura County has elected new board leadership for 2015. Four-term elected Moorpark City Councilmember Roseann Mikos, Ph.D., has been named board chair. Rabobank NA senior vice president and market manager Sean Morreale was elected vice chair and Supervisor Kathy Long remains in the role of secretary/treasurer. They were installed at EDC-VC's 18th Annual Meeting on Jan. 15.
"Roseann has served on the board and executive committee of the EDC-VC since 2009 and as Moorpark's elected councilmember for 14 years. Her experience and dedication to community and economic development will be an asset to EDC-VC as she brings the insight and leadership qualities needed to support and grow local businesses through EDC-VC's loan programs and our partnerships with commercial lenders," said Bruce Stenslie EDC-VC's president and CEO. "The combined experience of Roseann, Sean and Kathy provides a solid team, well-prepared to continue our commitment to advancing our region's strong economic position."
Mikos began her fourth term on the Moorpark City Council in December 2012, serving as mayor pro tem four times. In addition, she has served 13 years on the board of Community Action Ventura County, two years as chair. A strong proponent of economic development and agriculture/open space preservation, Mikos serves on the city of Moorpark's community and economic development committee and represents Moorpark on the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy advisory committee. Mikos currently is a life and health insurance sales representative for Bankers Life and Casualty Company/Colonial Penn, helping seniors and families protect their financial security and plan for their futures.
A member of EDC-VC's board since 2012, Morreale is a senior vice president and market manager for Rabobank's South Coast Middle Market team. Fostering new financial relationships with commercial clients within the San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles regions, Morreale excels at cultivating enduring relationships with his clients as well as promoting excellence institution-wide through leadership development of his banking team. Prior to joining Rabobank in 2012, Morreale, a 25-year banking veteran, has held managerial positions at Comerica, U.S. Bank, Affinity and Bank of the West.
Long is on her fifth term as supervisor for Ventura County, overseeing the Third District. She is a founding member of EDC-VC board of directors, serving since 1996, and subsequently became the board's chair in 2001 and again in 2013. Long also serves as chair of the County of Ventura Medical Oversight subcommittee, co-chair of the Regional Defense Partnership for the 21st Century (RDP-21), and is a charter board member of the Heritage Valley Tourism Bureau.
