AUSTIN, TX, February 22, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Staggering statistics have stated that the divorce rate in America is 50%. Some stats have said that the divorce rate is even higher among Christians. Life coach and motivational speaker Kennisha Moffett hopes to stem the tide of this disturbing trend with her new book, Dying To Become One. The Austin, TX area resident recently released her first writing chronicling her own experiences as a wife and hopes that her story will help save marriages that seem doomed to fail.
Moffett is passionate about sharing her and her husband's story. "I want couples to know that it's okay if they are having struggles in their marriage," Moffett reveals. "Every marriage has its issues and problems and there will be times when you will want to quit. But I encourage couples to hang in there. It's easy to look at others and believe they have the perfect marriage. That's just not reality. I want people to understand that it's okay if your marriage isn't perfect."
Her husband writes Dying To Become One's foreword prior to the 18-chapter book's start. During the personal writing, Kennisha recounts childhood experiences, understanding that those experiences helped to shape her in both good and bad ways. Speaking on how those experiences create the framework from which we form our views on marriage and family, Kennisha allows the reader into her life in an amazingly transparent way. Recommending that the reader be transparent as well, Mrs. Moffett encourages deep, personal introspection, forcing the reader to examine motives and intents of the heart. Not afraid of showing her flaws as well, she speaks of a time of falling away, something that routinely happens when young adults enter college life. She is frank about mistakes she made and the ultimate emotional healing needed to become a future wife.
At the heart of Dying To Become One is the relationship between she and her husband, Herb. She shares with us the entrance of an unexpected love. Once married, Kennisha speaks of the challenges of married life by "keeping it real" and not glossing over the reality of marriage. She takes us inside her struggles including difficulties with in-laws, the introduction of children and financial challenges. Throughout she provides spiritual insights and keys to a successful marriage. Most importantly, she reveals how God's daily direction has been the reason for her 18-year marriage. Ultimately, Moffett helps the reader to understand that a great marriage entails each spouse "dying to self" and placing the other's needs ahead of their own. Biblical references and scriptures are peppered throughout helping the reader to understand that God is the only one who can help two "die to become one."
Readers of the book have been raving about the life coach's debut writing:
"Marriage is one of God's greatest gifts to mankind, but it also is one of the most challenging relationships that can be encountered. Trying to figure out how to solve and work through every problem can be an overwhelming task, but with God's help it can be done. In this book, Sis. Kennisha addresses many of the challenges in marriage and explains how to overcome them and experience a maximized marriage. Kennisha Moffett is a blessed and anointed wife, mother, and Life Coach who draws from life lessons that God has taught her and shares how dying to self and self-seeking mindsets will lead to a blessed and prosperous marriage. She explains how a loving relationship with the Lord can and will empower you to love, trust and be committed to another person. It is my prayer that as you read this book that the principles and precepts shared will become a reality in your life and that you'll learn the value of "Dying to Become One".

"I marvel at Kennisha Moffett's transparency to share her life lessons in Dying to Become ONE. While I have benefited from her wisdom for my personal and professional growth through one-on-one conversations, I am pleased that this fruit of her life can now bless people beyond her living room. And, despite our different upbringings and life paths, it's reassuring to know that we can all overcome life's challenges when we choose to acknowledge our weaknesses and learn to trust God's ways as better than our own."

"In Dying To Become ONE, Kennisha is very transparent, humble and vulnerable as she chronicles her life before and during marriage. Her book is part memoir, part instruction and part Bible study. I know that people will not only learn from The Moffetts' union but be touched by their honesty and humility."
