Scottsdale Plastic Surgeon Named President of the Arizona Society of Plastic Surgeons

    SCOTTSDALE, AZ, February 25, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Arizona Society of Plastic Surgeons is proud to announce the election of John J. Corey, MD to serve as President of the Society from January 2015 through January 2017.

The Arizona Society of Plastic Surgeons is a non-profit membership organization consisting of 90 Arizona board certified plastic surgeons. The mission of the Society is to encourage and assist in the promotion and advancement of the art and science of plastic surgery; encourage and promote the highest standard of professional skills and competence among Arizona plastic surgeons; and improve communications to the public about all aspects of plastic surgery through interaction with other medical and health professionals, professional societies and governmental bodies.

Dr. John J Corey is honored to be elected to this prestigious position.With over twenty-three years of surgical experience, he hopes he can encourage excellence and patient education in the field of Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Corey explains that one of the biggest challenges for the society is the confusion that patients face when trying to find a qualified surgeon.

"Anyone with a basic medical degree and license is allowed to perform cosmetic surgery in their office, and at times with tragic results. My goal over the next two years will be aimed at education and legislation that can help better protect the public when making such an important healthcare decision".

John J. Corey has been practicing in Scottsdale, Arizona, since 1993. Dr. Corey is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. He lectures at Arizona State University. He is an Affiliate Assistant Professor at Midwestern University.
