All it takes is a little planning. We want the Norfolk community to remember that it's a choice. Drink or drive, but never do both...Choosing to drive drunk can ruin or end your life or someone else's
NORFOLK, VA, March 05, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With St. Patrick's Day around the corner, the experienced Norfolk lawyers of Kalfus & Nachman want to help make sure that all get home safely after their festivities. Unfortunately, the number of drunk-driving fatalities during this time has spiked up within the last few years, making March 17th not only a day of celebrations but a deadly day as well.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, during St. Patrick's Day weekend in 2013, more than a third (40%) of crash fatalities involved drunk drivers. Of all the crash fatalities that occurred in the post-celebration hours between midnight and 5:59am on March 18, half involved drunk drivers.
That's why Kalfus & Nachman is teaming up with Black & White Cab once again this St. Patrick's Day to help the Norfolk community get home safely. The St. Patrick's Day Safe Ride Home Program offers free rides to people who don't have a designated driver so that they can get home in one piece.
The St. Patrick's Day Safe Ride Home Program is a way for Kalfus & Nachman to give back to the community and keep the roads safer during celebrations. With all the festivities, including the Knight of Columbus St. Patrick's Day Parade and the Shamrock Marathon at Virginia Beach Oceanfront, it can be a fun-filled day, but it is also one of the most dangerous days to be on the road.
"Drunk driving is absolutely preventable," said Norfolk lawyer Paul Hernandez. "All it takes is a little planning. We want the Norfolk community to remember that it's a choice. Drink or drive, but never do both. It's a simple choice. Choosing to drive drunk can ruin or end your life or someone else's."
The Norfolk lawyers of Kalfus & Nachman advise community members who plan on drinking this St. Patrick's Day to designate a sober driver or participate in Kalfus & Nachman's Safe Ride Home Program.
