NEW YORK, NY, March 10, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In memory of his late wife, Marie, philanthropist Chester Pullman has announced that Pullman Trust will be offering a scholarship program for students who are focusing on a non-profit, charitable works career path.
The program will be funded this year, and, applications to apply will be available in September, 2015 for the 2016/2017 scholastic year.
Jane Pullman Standish who is current Chairwoman of Pullman Trust said in a statement "I can't think of a better way to honor my Mother. She was so pro-education and pro-charity, and, I know she would be thrilled to know she is helping young adults reach there goals even though she is longer with us."
She went on to say that "unlike so many scholarship programs, we'll be focusing on more than just grades. We'll be looking at the volunteer and charity work applicants are already doing. We searching students who already know what a commitment to working for a charitable organization takes, and, if they can demonstrate their desire to help others that will weigh more than the individual's GPA."
More information regarding the Pullman Trust Scholarship Program will be made available in June, 2015.
Pullman Trust is a non-profit organization run by the Pullman family. We are a family-founded, grant-making trust which has been supporting charities for over 50 years.
