ORLANDO, FL, March 11, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- EMIE Marketing, a Florida based sales and marketing firm were shocked to discover that, according to a recent study, when it comes to marketing to a younger female audience a vast number of brands are still relying on cliches, which in today's market no longer hold relevance with the target demographic. The Study sourced from The Pineapple Lounge entitled 'Little Miss Understood' was published by Marketing Week on the 18th February 2015, makes for some interesting reading and revealed some, at times, quite shocking statistics which suggest many marketers are taking completely the wrong approach when it comes to marketing to the young female demographic. After surveying 1070 girls aged between 8 and 14, the study found that girls are quite rightly refusing to conform to stereotypes. 59% are far more interested in video games than celebrities, 40% would rather choose British Olympic hero Jessica Ennis as a role model than Miley Cyrus, whilst 27% of 8 to 10 years old dislike anything associated with princesses or pink.
About EMIE Marketing: http://www.emiemarketing.com/
EMIE Marketing believes it's important for marketers to understand just how important brands are to consumers in such early, formative years. A vast number of young people chose brands that they feel a connection with, or that share the same values they wish to promote. young people often choose brands to build their own identities, express their views and boost their confidence, meaning that in many ways brands have a far greater importance to younger consumers that adults. EMIE Marketing believes that for many 8 to 14 year olds, confidence can drop as they get older, therefore it is paramount for brands to ensure they are engaging with this audience in an appropriate and relevant way. By promoting the ways that their brand can boost confidence, cares about their consumers' opinions and allows them to have fun, the firm believe businesses will be able to develop lasting and meaningful connections with their consumers, without having to revert to outdated cliches.
In order to deliver on their promises, EMIE Marketing believes there are 3 factors brands must abide by, emotion, authenticity and reassurance. By considering these 3 factors during all business processes businesses will be able to build a solid base of loyal customers, who trust that the brand fully understands their needs and what it is like to be 'them'. EMIE Marketing also believe it's important for businesses to be constantly striving to learn more about their audience by appealing for feedback and interacting and collaborating with consumers, as this can provide key insights that competitors may have missed.
