NEW YORK, NY, March 12, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- To encourage more women to enter the technology field, Myriad Supply will be contributing funds to Girl Develop It during the month of March.
Girl Develop It is a nonprofit organization focused on empowering more women to pursue technology careers by providing affordable education to them in key areas such as software and web development.
Toward that end, Myriad Supply is partnering with Girl Develop It to drive both attention and money to their cause.
During March, Myriad will be posting questions in its Twitter feed. Each correct answer or retweet will result in Myriad donating $1 to Girl Develop It and entering those responsible into a drawing for a free Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook to take place on March 31.
"Myriad believes that by encouraging more women of all ages to pursue education and careers in web and software development, we'll all benefit from seeing an increase in talent and diversity in the tech world," said Hilary DeCourcey, Head of Charitable Giving at Myriad Supply. "With this partnership, we're aiming to help GDI in their efforts to do just that."
"We are really excited to be working with Myriad on a social media campaign during Women's History Month," said Corinne Warnshuis, Executive Director at Girl Develop It "It not only opens a great opportunity for helping raise funds for our nonprofit, Girl Develop It, but also has the added benefit of reaching thousands of people with stories and facts about women in technology -- a group traditionally underrepresented in the media and history. We are looking forward to elevating #womenintech through this partnership."
