Mark E. Morley Honored for an Outstanding Legal Career

    TROY, MI, March 12, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mark E. Morley, Senior Partner and Co-Managing Partner of Secrest Wardle, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in legal services.

A revered AV-rated legal professional through Martindale-Hubbell, Mr. Morley is backed by 42 years of legal experience. He was voted to the list of Michigan Super Lawyers in 2006, and 2009 to 2014. He is also listed in the Super Lawyers Business Edition in the area of civil litigation defense and was named to the list of Top Lawyers by DBusiness Magazine in 2010.

Mr. Morley has focused his practice on litigation, professional liability and malpractice. In his current role, as a member of Secrest Wardle for the past 37 years, he represents insurance companies. His work through Secrest Wardle has led the practice to become recognized as one of the largest law firms in metro Detroit.

A graduate of Alma College, Mr. Morley earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1969 and a JD from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1972. He was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1972 and subsequently admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan in 1973, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana in 1974 and the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in 1985.

The author of numerous seminar materials in the areas of insurance law, extra contractual claims, no-fault and tort reform, Mr. Morley co-authored "Professional Practice Alternatives" published by R & R Newkirk (1978). Additionally, he has authored many articles for the firm's newsletters, and is a frequent speaker at firm-sponsored seminars on topics, such as no-fault, personal injury claims and tort reform in Michigan. He has also lectured for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education.

Recently inducted into Worldwide Registry, Mr. Morley also maintains affiliation with the International Association of Defense Counsel, the State Bar of Michigan, the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance and the Defense Research Institute. Charitably, he supports Habitat for Humanity International and Rebuilding Together.
