Dr. Isabel M. Gruber, MD Ph.D. Honored for Excellence in Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology

    KILCHBERG, SWITZERLAND, March 16, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Isabel Gruber, Business Unit Lead of the Oncology Division of Merck & Co., Inc., has been named a Worldwide Branding Professional of the Year in Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor, only small selections of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.

With five years of medical and marketing experience, Dr. Gruber has extensive knowledge in health care, gynecology, anesthesia, mycology and oncology. She is an excellent coach who emphasizes teamwork, and is currently building a strong team consisting of sales representatives, brand & customer managers, market access- and medical managers as well as day-to-day operations, including marketing and sales. She is also focusing on the studies of oncology.

In the future, Dr. Gruber would like to become a managing director, and continue to center on marketing and sales. She attributes her success to hard work, enthusiasm, working with a cross-functional team and continuous coaching and feedback to her team. She also credits her education, the analytical skills she gained while earning a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Zurich, as well as the interpersonal skills she gained while working as a physician in the field of reproductive medicine. She also holds an MD from the University of Vienna.

Dr. Gruber became involved in her profession because she has always been interested in the science of medicine. She wants to help others and fight diseases. And she has been recognized for her efforts. She was awarded the Müller European Fellowship for a Ph.D. Thesis in 2005, and received three scholarships from the University of Vienna in 2004 and 2005.
