Anthony E. Hercok Honored for Excellence in Business Services

Mr. Hercok both practices and administrates at a prestigious law firm



He is improving the internal process and brand equity and developing four new office locations across the Sydney and Central Coast markets.

Hercok, Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Watts McCray Lawyers, has been named a Worldwide Branding Executive of the Year in Business Services. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor, only small selections of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.

With more than 30 years of management and leadership experience, stretching across various industries, Mr. Hercok has worked for some of the world's leading organizations, including News Limited, Dentsu Inc., Scholastic Inc., Village Roadshow and Free TV Australia. His organizational management experience caught the attention of Watts McCray because it would allow Mr. Hercok to spearhead the varied management aspects of running a busy legal firm, in addition to increasing growth and taking the firm to the next level.

Mr. Hercok has extensive knowledge in various concepts, including professional services; publishing, media, advertising and communications; entertainment; and industry representation and manufacturing. He is also facilitating and instructing for the UNSW Australian Graduate School of Management Executive MBA programs. He has also handled mergers and acquisitions, change management, organizational management, stakeholder management, program management and coaching. He also directs efforts on general business development, manufacturing and value chain development, market research, social media placement and strategy, and project planning.

Mr. Hercok has 10 years of legal experience, five of them in his current role at the firm. He has vast duties in bringing a wealth of business, management and marketing knowledge to the firm. He is providing advisory services, and overseeing the marketing, branding, human resources, information technology, web development and strategic direction of the firm. He is improving the internal process and brand equity and developing four new office locations across the Sydney and Central Coast markets. Finally, he is offering management consultancy services to clients in Sydney, Parramatta, Canberra, Brookvale, Frenchs Forest and Erina.

In the future, Mr. Hercok intends to take Watts McCray Lawyers to the next level and invest in other businesses when the opportunities arise. For instance, he was recently involved with the global launch of the first smartphone divorce application.

Mr. Hercok's greatest strength is his own energy and the ability to energize others to accomplish consistently, to ensure the value proposition for the product or organization that creates a competitive advantage long term. For instance, he turned around a very large media company into one of the region's most successful organizations within just three years.

Successful because of having the opportunity to hold several senior positions in various organizations and industries, Mr. Hercok also credits his willingness, energy and drive to succeed. Originally, he was working as a salesperson in the music industry and undertaking part-time study. After a brief period of teaching music and developing real estate, an opportunity to enter the corporate world presented itself.

Mr. Hercok is proud of many moments in his career. As a sales representative for Williams-Collins, he reached the level of national product manager within two years. He was also the first product manager in Australian book publishing history to use television advertising to launch new book titles. He is known for pioneering the introduction of talking books and customer exclusive product development for all major retail stores globally.

At Village Roadshow, Mr. Hercok led the direct marketing division, where he participated in the consolidation, development and growth of the business, in addition to launching the first DVD products into the Australian market. In 1998, Mr. Hercok accepted the highest senior marketing position in Australian free-to-air television, representing all free-to-air commercial television networks. He re-established both agencies and advertisers, which brought significant revenue increases for the industry.

Complementing Mr. Hercok's professional experience is his education. He holds a master's degree in marketing from the University of Technology, Sydney (1993), and graduate diplomas in marketing and management from TAFE NSW.
