TORONTO, ON, March 26, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- BrightLane, Toronto's latest, and arguably its coolest cowork facility, has launched a new web-based video series - The BrightLane Entrepreneur Awards. Recently at its 545 King St West location the company hosted a competition for budding entrepreneurs, from all areas of business. The entrepreneurs pitched their businesses to a panel of judges for Membership at the BrightLane cowork space for up to a year, as well as a $15,000 award for the eventual winner, along with the opportunity to meet other like-minded peers, mentors and investors.
The event day proved to be exciting, with a number of entertaining and informative business pitches from which the BrightLane Entrepreneur Awards webisodes were born. Viewers will be able to follow the ups and downs of the entrepreneurs as they compete for their place at BrightLane.
"The first stage of competition was a neat opportunity to practice pitching in different formats and to get relevant feedback on both my business and my presentation," said Pierre Seguin, Founder of Brili, in reflection of his experience in the competition. "Since then, it's felt more collaborative than competitive. I think this is because we're all genuinely trying to succeed as entrepreneurs and a mutual support network has spontaneously formed among us."
The first episode in the series titled Hands-on Entrepreneurs is out now, with three additional episodes being released weekly; Education Entrepreneurs on March 31st, Tech Entrepreneurs on April 2nd and BrightLane Entrepreneur Award Finals on April 9th. All episodes are available via BrightLane's YouTube channel and the BrightLane Entrepreneur Award homepage.
"These webisodes are a great source of real infotainment for budding entrepreneurs. I encourage everyone to follow us on social media and YouTube in the week and months ahead and visit our website to receive updates on the release of the BrightLane Entrepreneur Awards webisodes," commented George Horhota, President of BrightLane.
Over the next four months we will be bringing you updates on their progress and what they are learning from this unique experience through social posts and webisode releases.
The BrightLane Entrepreneur Awards bring the ethos of the late G. Raymond Chang OC, the founder of BrightLane and co-founder of CI Investments, to the King West entrepreneurial community.
When Ray Taaeb, founder of R3NTR and competitor in the BrightLane Entrepreneur Awards explains, "Working at BrightLane has offered me a space to not only grow my business but also network with other entrepreneurs and stay motivated by engaging with other innovative companies and individuals. The vibes in the office are truly inspiring and unlike other environments that I've worked in."
