miEdge and SourceMedia's Benefits Group Partner On Ground-Breaking Insurance Carrier, Broker Rankings

    NEW BOSTON, NH, March 30, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- miEdge , the premiere provider of form 5500 business intelligence data solutions, has entered into a partnership with SourceMedia's Benefits Group under which miEdge is producing a series of exclusive rankings for SourceMedia's Employee Benefit Adviser and Employee Benefit News brands.

A ranking of the top 50 large-group insurance carriers in the U.S., which miEdge based on premiums, has just been posted to the EBA and EBN web sites and published in the brands' current print issues.

In December, EBA and EBN published the first-ever ranking of the top 50 largest employee benefit brokers, which miEdge created based on the commissions and fees the brokerages generated from health and welfare benefit insurance policies.

In addition to the two Top 50 lists, miEdge is creating rankings that spotlight large, regional brokers and carriers as well as producing industry segment analysis.

Business intelligence analytics firm miEdge compiled the data for the largest brokers and carriers from Form 5500 Schedule A health and welfare insurance data, which employers submit annually to the Department of Labor. Form 5500 A reports are designed to ensure that employee benefit plans are operated and managed in accordance with DOL standards. Welfare insurance includes dental, vision, life, disability, long-term care and other voluntary benefit policies.
