MANCHESTER, ENGLAND, April 01, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The secret to converting customers in business lies in understanding what they want and expect from a brand. Of course, the best way for a business to make an impact on their consumer base is to get to know each customer individually, taking note of their values, beliefs and preferences. Before this can be done however, businesses first need to build a consumer base and attract people to their brand and Fortitude Plethora, a leading sales and marketing firm in Manchester believe an effective way of doing this is to understand how customers think. Although each customer is unique and has different needs, as humans our brains often react in very similar ways to certain stimuli. By understanding these complex psychological triggers and why people make certain decisions Fortitude Plethora believe that brands will be able to engage with potential consumers on a more meaningful level and transform more leads into sales.

Language
A study into the language used in marketing uncovered that even the smallest word or phrase can have a huge effect on a customer's purchase decision. Researchers conducted a survey, where marketers asked charity workers to use two different phrases when asking for charitable donations and tallied up the responses of the potential donors. The group who used the phrase 'every penny helps' as opposed to 'Would you be willing to help by giving a donation?' had a far higher conversion rate. The study concluded that by using language that made the request more achievable, donors felt that they could truly make a difference and were more comfortable giving. Fortitude Plethora believe that in marketing, language is extremely important and that brands should think carefully about how they wish to present themselves to consumers in order to build stronger relationships.
Admit Faults
As well as promoting greater trust among consumers, admitting faults can help a brand to highlight their strengths. A study by social psychologist Fiona Lee used two fictional company reports, one blaming strategic decisions for a company's faults, the other blaming external factors. When presented to the study's participants the company that admitted the faults were a result of their own decision making came out in a more positive light, as despite their shortcomings they still showed that they were in control and taking steps to innovate and improve.
Rewards
Rewards provide the human mind with instant stimulation and as such are a great way of capturing customer attention. Not only is instant gratification important in building customer confidence when they are parting with their hard earned money, it can also drive more customers to a certain brand as they will recognise that their problems will be solved quickly and efficiently.
