He first became interested in orthodontics at the age of 13, when he experienced what it was like to have an impacted canine brought into place. As an adult, he chose to pursue a career in the orthodontics, earning a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Certificate in Orthodontics from the New York University College of Dentistry.
