FEI-STL Hosts Golf Tournament to Benefit Local At-Risk Youth

    ST. LOUIS, MO, April 04, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The members, sponsors and friends of Financial Executives International-St. Louis Chapter will host a golf tournament to benefit local organization Aim High on May 19 at Forest Park Golf Course. Registration for the tournament is open to members of FEI and the general public.

Aim High is a tuition-free personal and academic enrichment program that annually serves and supports more than 300 motivated middle school students from at-risk communities in the St. Louis area. Through Aim High's structured initiatives, which focus on core school subjects and individual development, all participants are encouraged to grow academically, graduate high school and continue their education.

"More than 90 percent of Aim High achievers graduate high school, compared to only 60 percent of their local counterparts," said Nancy Sokolik, director of programs at Aim High. "We can't thank the members of FEI enough. The generous donations from local organizations like FEI have made it possible for us to make a difference for the children in our community for the past 20 years."

Every element of the Aim High community is intended to model and encourage positive behaviors and character values. From the "Random Acts of Kindness" program to responsibility sharing at lunchtime to good sportsmanship and physical fun, the Aim High program is designed to promote academic and personal growth in each participant.

"Each year we choose to sponsor an organization that uniquely benefits the St. Louis community," said Tim Vosse, president of the St. Louis Chapter of FEI. "Our golf tournament in Forest Park is a small but worthwhile contribution to our neighbors. We are extremely happy to do what we can for an organization like Aim High."
