Mr. Gerald H. Jacks Honored for 46 Years of Excellence in Practicing Law

    CLEVELAND, MS, April 07, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gerald H. Jacks, Senior Partner with Jacks Luciano Attorneys at Law, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence practicing law.

Mr. Jacks was the first in his family to pursue law as a career, though his passion for government and politics made it an easy choice. He established the firm of Jacks Luciano Attorneys at Law in 1985, a firm which has represented a number of insurance companies and corporate clients in all state and federal courts throughout the state of Mississippi, as well as Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas and Louisiana. Continuing the new family tradition, his son now practices in Dallas.

After obtaining a bachelor's degree from Millsaps College, Mr. Jacks earned a JD from the University of Mississippi School of Law. He has served as a speaker at numerous continuing legal education seminars sponsored by the Mississippi Bar Association and other related groups, and participates in teaching a trial practice class at the University of Mississippi School of Law each spring semester. Additionally, he served as a member of the first advisory committee (appointed by the senior judge of the United States District Court in the northern district of Mississippi), which wrote the initial proposed uniform rules relating to discovery and pretrial procedure. Those rules were adopted by the courts in the northern and southern districts of the United States District Courts of Mississippi. Mr. Jacks is a member of the Board of Governors of the Fifth Circuit Bar Association.

Mr. Jacks specializes in general civil litigation. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in the state of Mississippi, the United States Supreme Court and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Jacks is a member of the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association, the Defense Research Institute, the International Association of Defense Counsel, and the American Bar Foundation. He is also a diplomate for the American Board of Trial Advocates, a fellow for the American College of Trial Lawyers, past president of the Cleveland-Bolivar County Chamber of Commerce, the Bolivar County Industrial Development Foundation, and a past member of the Board of Trustees of Millsaps College.
