Genesis Business Partnership Say Small Business Confidence Will Boost Economic Growth

According to a recent survey, confidence in the small business sector is on the rise. Genesis Business Partnership investigate what impact the increasing amount of start-ups has on Australia's economic growth.

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, April 08, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A recent survey undertaken by research firm Dun and Bradstreet reveals that the number of Australia's start-up businesses increased by 23 per cent in quarter two last year. In fact, the survey indicates that 62,160 businesses opened up during that time, a significant increase compared to the 50,539 new businesses in quarter one. "The trend remains the same for this year. We expect further growth in the amount of start-up businesses," say Genesis Business Partnership.

MD of Genesis Business Partnership, Keven Afolabi, explains: "It is fantastic to see that more and more entrepreneurs take the step to start their own business. This shows that business confidence is growing in Australia and will have a positive impact on our economy." On a year-to-year basis, there was an eight per cent growth in the number of start-ups in 2014, compared to the year before. In addition to that, the Dun and Bradstreet survey reveals that a fewer amount of businesses fail. Stephen Koukoulas, economic adviser to Dun and Bradstreet, says: "The dynamic position of the Australian economy shows very clearly."

The main reason for the increasing amount of start-ups in Australia, believe Genesis Business Partnership, is the growing small business confidence that encourages people to break out of their employment commitments and do something they enjoy more. Chris Brycki, founder of start-up online business Stockspot, agrees: "For a lot of people it is not that engaging and they are just getting bored and wanting a new challenge. I never felt comfortable working in a large corporation where there was a lot of red tape and it was very difficult to get things done and be innovative."

Genesis Business Partnership are very optimistic about the future. "With increasing small business confidence and continuous growth in the number of start-ups, I believe that we have some fantastic years ahead in a thriving economy," says Kevin Afolabioz.
