WOODLAND HILLS, CA, April 07, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anthony B. Gordon, Attorney at Law of Gordon & Gordon, A Professional Law Corporation, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in litigation and dispute resolution services.
Mr. Gordon brings 30 years of experience to his role as an attorney at law. Throughout his career, he has strived to obtain the best results for his clients in the most economically feasible manner. Through his firm, he provides services in business litigation torts, commercial disputes, malpractice actions, real property, tax shelter litigation, and all forms of dispute resolution.
Mr. Gordon started his legal career by serving three years as an articled clerk with a firm of attorneys in Johannesburg at the same time he studied for his LLB degree at the Witwatersrand University School of Law. It was at that time that he developed a fascination and keen interest in the forensic practice of law which involved trial advocacy. After completing the mandatory three years of articles and to gain experience in trial work, he joined the Department of Justice in South Africa, where he spent practically every day in a courtroom prosecuting a wide variety of different cases until he entered private practice as barrister and member of the Johannesburg Bar in 1972.
During the time Mr. Gordon practiced as a barrister in South Africa, he tried numerous cases under South Africa's then existing draconian security laws such as the Terrorism Act, the Internal Security Act and the Suppression of Communism Act. Disillusioned with Apartheid-era justice, Mr. Gordon and his wife immigrated to California in 1982. Thankfully, since that time Apartheid has been abolished, and many of the unjust practices that were commonplace at the time of Mr. Gordon's departure have similarly been abandoned.
Mr. Gordon's lengthy career has seen the implementation of several new advances in technology, notably the Internet, which has facilitated the process of acquiring and sorting data for cases. More than that, he has also gained new insight into the demeanor of a successful lawyer. Though it was not easy to make the transition from the British-inspired South African legal system to the system utilized in the United States, Mr. Gordon was fortunate enough to start his legal career as a litigator with the prestigious international law firm of O'Melveny & Myers in Los Angeles. His experience and perseverance led him on a path to success. Recently, he obtained a judgment for his client in the United States federal court in Los Angeles that included a $2 million award of punitive damages for fraud and violation of the RICO statute. He was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry and also maintains affiliation with the Legal Advisory Board, of the Anti Defamation League. In 2014, he was named as an AV Preeminent Attorney.
