David A. Navazio (www.davidnavazio.com), Executive Vice President and founder of Gentell Inc. (www.gentell.com), announced that the Gentell Wound Advisor, Version 3.15.1, is now available.

BRISTOL, PA, April 10, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David Navazio, Executive Vice President and founder of Gentell, Inc. (www.gentell.com), a leading manufacturer of wound and skin care products, recently announced the release of the latest version of the Gentell Wound Advisor. The new version, number 3.15.1, is available as a free PDF download from www.gentell.com/woundadvisor. A bound print copy can be ordered from Amazon.com, and the manual can also be accessed from www.woundadvice.com.

The Gentell Wound Advisor was developed to help nurses and medical practitioners better understand wound care, how to properly utilize wound management products, and how to determine the best product to treat each different type of wound condition. "When it was first introduced, there was nothing else quite like it available," explains David Navazio. "It was quickly recognized as a valuable source of wound care information."

First published in 2012, the Wound Advisor is available for free to all nurses and medical professionals to help them understand how aggressive or chronic wounds are best treated. It includes the Gentell Wound Algorithm, which describes the four stages of wound severity and suggests best practices to prevent them. It also includes a brief history of wound care, wound care best practices, and information about Gentell wound and skin care products.

The Wound Advisor is updated several times a year based on direct feedback from nurses and medical practitioners on an ongoing basis. Version 3.15.1 is the first update for 2015. New features include the latest treatment guidelines as well as information on more new Gentell wound care products. Both the print version and the free PDF download are available in full- color. For several customers, Gentell also customizes the content to include more customer-specific products and documentation.

The Wound Advisor is part of Gentell's Total Wound Care Solution, a four component integrated solution designed to effectively manage chronic and aggressive wound and skin conditions. The core components of the Total Wound Care Solution include: 1) a full array of wound care products, 2) the Fastcare F-314 Compliant Wound Tracking System, 3) the Gentell Wound Advisor, and 4) visiting Wound Education Specialists.

The Gentell Wound Algorithm
The Gentell Wound Algorithm was the first component of the Wound Advisor to be developed. It defines different types of wounds in order of increasing severity from Stage 1 through Stage 4, and offers best practices for proper wound care and treatment.

About David A. Navazio
David A. Navazio (www.davidnavazio.com) is the Executive Vice President and founder of Gentell, Inc., developers of the Fastcare wound documentation system.

David is responsible for Gentell operations, including manufacturing, FDA compliance, and product development. He started out with the development of a home medical equipment and respiratory company. Through a series of acquisitions and a consistently increasing customer base, the company soon became a leader in the industry and was the first company to develop wound-healing protocols exclusively for nursing homes. These protocols were the preamble of Gentell and revolutionized wound care by providing education along with treatment options.

In addition, David worked tirelessly with the National Association for the Support of Long Term Care (NASL) and chaired the committee responsible for having the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) recognize advanced wound care products. The result was Congressional changes to the Medicare Coverage Policies (Section 2079) to not only recognize wound care but also to provide coverage for advanced wound care products. Today, many state health programs have been utilizing the Medicare parameters and adding coverage for wound care products.

David is a past president of the Rotary Club of Trenton, NJ; the Assistant Governor for Rotary District 7510; a board member of Artworks, Trenton's premier cultural association; and Board Member for Pearl S. Buck International.
