RALEIGH, NC, April 11, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Chefs Table photo exhibit to showcase behind-the-scenes happenings and details of North Hills' Midtown Grille, an upscale working restaurant. The event will take place at Brushstroke Studio and Gallery, downtown Raleigh on 520 N. West Street April 27 at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Midtown Grille's Executive Chef Ben Harris will create amazing bites to pass around and all proceeds from the cash bar will benefit No Kid Hungry North Carolina, a public-private partnership working to end childhood hunger in the state. The organization's co-founder, Billy Shore stated that more than 600,000 children (one in four) in North Carolina, are at risk of hunger and not getting the food they need to lead healthy, active lives. The Western Wake Farmers Market, Inc. will donate the produce and meats. The Market is a nonprofit organization established in 2009 by a group of Cary Moms. They have completed their sixth season at Carpenter Village in Cary and are opening a second large market at the UNC Wellness Center in West Cary this year - The award-winning TOPO Distillery of Chapel Hill - the only fully local and USDA certified organic distillery in the South - will provide Organic Spirits joined by several local wine and beer suppliers.
"We are honored Felicia chose us as the subject for her photo exhibit," says Max Trujillo, General Manager of Midtown Grille at North Hills. "Felicia has brilliantly captured the people and details it takes to run a restaurant dedicated to unparalleled customer service and exceptional cuisine."
"It's thrilling to me to capture the fluidity and the intensity of the kitchen's preparation of dishes - most especially during service when there is no time for error, "says Perry. "As the controlled chaos is happening in the kitchen, the bar staff coolly slings drinks and makes patrons feel like friends while the wait-staff buzzes around like bees on a well-organized mission. Behind the hum of service is the minutia that makes up everything in between - from the cleaning of glasses and checking for dust or spots; the trimming of individual leaves for garnish; and the burns, scars and tattoos that tell their own tales. All of these little details create the sum of a single guests' experience find their way into my lens."
