/24-7PressRelease.com/ - March 10, 2005 - Michael P. Harden, Chief Executive Officer of Accel-A-Tech, Inc., announced today the launch of its new technology accelerator program. Accel-A-Tech is a technology accelerator that identifies new technologies in the Homeland Security sector that have attractive commercial potential and creates companies around those technologies to accelerate their viability and market launch.
Accel-A-Tech is actively seeking out aspiring entrepreneurs, inventors, and technologists with innovative ideas and concepts that can be developed into commercially viable products. To accelerate these technologies, Accel-A-Tech provides a dynamic entrepreneurial environment to the fledgling companies that includes: space and infrastructure, hands-on management assistance, access to funding sources, critical business and technical support services, intellectual property protection, seasoned executive mentoring, and administrative and marketing services. In return for these subsidized services and focused mentoring, the Company takes an equity position in each of the selected companies.
"We are looking for entrepreneurs and people with deep technology backgrounds that have innovative ideas for homeland security, national defense, and first responder products," said Harden. "Our goal is to rigorously screen those ideas, and if accepted into our program, build companies around them and provide everything they need to propel those products into the market within 18 to 36 months."
Harden added, "For the last two years, we've been studying the best practices of some of the country's most successful business incubators and technology accelerators, and developed a model specifically focused on the homeland security, first responder, and national defense industries. We believe this model is unlike any other, and has the potential for quickly developing new technologies and successfully accelerating those products into the commercial marketplace. And of course, Northern Virginia is an ideal location for a homeland security technology accelerator."
The Company is currently seeking additional funding to establish its Center for Innovation, which will house the new companies, and to line up potential investors for the new companies.
Accel-A-Tech is a private company specializing in accelerating homeland security, national defense, and first responder technologies. The Company is located at 8416 Westwood Center Dr., Suite 800, Vienna, VA 22182. More information can be found at the Company's website: http://www.accel-a-tech.com.
