Mr. Castro graduated from UCLA Law School in 1975, working for the California Attorney General during his last year. He then established his private practice in 1977. Soon he began representing condominium homeowner associations as general counsel and a variety of property owners. Now, nearly 40 years later, he has litigated most types of major complex construction cases for residential, commercial and industrial projects. He is known throughout the industry for his skill in litigating multi-patty cases that have set new forensic investigation standards following the Northridge, CA earthquake. He is a contributing editor to the California Construction Law Reporter, and his landmark article entitled "Cosmetically Repaired Welded Steel Moment frames: A Clear Risk of Disaster" appeared in its March 1997 edition. He has lectured extensively on the subjects of steel design, fabrication and manufacture, as well as welding procedures, construction litigation and seismic safety. His firm won the first death cases resulting from the collapse of unreinforced masonry buildings due to the 2003 earthquake in San Simeon, CA Castro & Associates has tried and resolved a variety of complex construction cases, including a $23,000,000 jury award for land subsidence cases in Monterey Hills, and $12,000,000 for a 660 unit complex in Woodland Hills, CA, in only 14 months. He was "Lead Counsel" in the Northridge Meadows death cases following the Northridge Earthquake.

In his spare time, Mr. Castro speaks at local schools to inspire others to consider a career in law and has invested countless hours in youth sports.
