"There have been attempts to improve dog breeding, but none before has brought together responsible breeders and the rescue community to promote sound business practices and good husbandry." Rita Rice
FORT WORTH, TX, April 16, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- For many years, Rita Rice and husband Bryan Rice have been breeders of Borzoi.
Rita Rice has been a dedicated advocate for purebred and purpose-bred canines for many years. She began showing hounds in obedience, lure coursing and conformation in the 1990s and has become a highly successful competitor in the United States and internationally. From the Rices' Aria Borzoi kennel have come numerous AKC conformation champions, AKC and ASFA field champions, Best-in-Field winners and grand champions.
Rita Rice is also a volunteer for the National Borzoi Rescue Foundation and has previously volunteered for Greyhound Pets of America. She currently serves as the Treasurer and the Legislative Liaison for the Borzoi Club of America and the Legislative Liaison for the Scottish Deerhound Club of America.
"There have been many attempts to improve dog breeding, but none before has brought together responsible breeders and the rescue community to promote sound business practices and good husbandry," said Rice, who has agreed to become VP of the National Alliance for Dog Breeding Reform (NADBR) and to serve on its board.
"Rita brings us a deep understanding of best practices from a respected home-based breeder, a wealth of contacts from the show and breeding worlds and insight into the best way to achieve our mission," said Hue Grant, NADBR President.
