ALBANY, NY, April 17, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Rebecca Hierholzer is Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director of COVERSA (Collection of Victim Evidence Regarding Sexual Assault).
Dr. Hierholzer earned her B.A. and M.D. in Medicine from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Dr. Hierholzer also holds a Master's of Business Administration in Healthcare from the American Intercontinental University.
Dr. Hierholzer is the CEO and Medical Director of COVERSA, a not for profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing passionate, quality care for post-sexual assaulted individuals. In her role, Dr. Hierholzer works with individuals, community leaders, medical professionals and law enforcement in a collaborative effort to improve community cohesiveness and to educate community members in an effort to prevent future sexual assaults. COVERSA's mission is to improve the collection of forensic evidence, provide acute intervention services, and to collaborate with legal and judicial representatives. This joint effort provides care and support enabling victims of sexual assaults to become victors.
COVERSA continues to expand under the leadership of Dr. Rebecca Hierholzer and is currently able to provide services at North Kansas City Hospital, Belton Regional Hospital, Cass Regional Hospital, Centerpoint Medical Center, Excelsior Springs Hospital, Lafayette Regional Hospital, Lee's Summit Health Center, Liberty Hospital, Olathe Medical Center, Overland Park Regional Hospital, Ray County Hospital, Research Medical Center and Western Missouri Medical Center and is actively seeking contracts with other area organizations. Dr. Rebecca S. Hierholzer is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA), Kansas City Medical Society and the Missouri State Medical Association (MSMA), where she represents the MSMA as an AMA Delegate. Dr. Hierholzer is also a member of the Kansas and Missouri American College of Emergency Physicians, the American College of Emergency Physicians, the International Association of Forensic Nurses, the Kansas City Coalition Against Human Trafficking, and the Kansas City Interdisciplinary Response to Sexual Assault (KCIRSA), the International Women's Leadership Association and the National Association of Professional Women. Additionally, Dr. Hierholzer is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, and shares her expertise and experience as a Clinical Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine through the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Medicine.
