Attorney Barbara A. Kriz Attains Success by Representing Local Government

    LEXINGTON, KY, April 17, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Barbara A. Kriz, President and one of the Founding Partners of Kriz, Jenkins, Prewitt & Jones, PSC, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in civil litigation.

As an expert in employment law, civil rights law and insurance defense, Ms. Kriz handles litigation trial work and represents public and private employers in employment matters, in addition to defending individuals, businesses and school boards in tort litigation. She has experience working with many areas of local government, including the police, fire departments and detention centers. As one of four founding members of Kriz, Jenkins, Prewitt & Jones, PSC, Ms. Kriz is admitted to practice in all Kentucky courts and the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, as well as the Federal District Courts in Eastern and Western Kentucky.

Ms. Kriz became interested in becoming a lawyer in her youth because she enjoyed debating and was interested in government and the world of politics. After earning a JD from the University of Kentucky in 1984, she served as an assistant attorney general in the Criminal Appeals division of the Kentucky Attorney General's Office before joining the predecessor firm to Kriz, Jenkins, Prewitt & Jones, PSC in 1986.

Recently inducted into Worldwide Registry, Ms. Kriz also maintains affiliation with the Fayette County Bar Association, Illinois Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association and American Bar Association, in addition to being a member of the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. As a mother of two sons, Ms. Kriz has served on the school board of Providence Montessori School. In the coming years, she expects to grow the firm while expanding her employment and civil rights practice.
