JDR's 6th Annual Design & Remodeling Industry Blog Competition Winners Announced

    SAN DIEGO, CA, April 18, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The 6th Annual Jackson Design and Remodeling Industry Blogger awards saw the closest margin of votes between first and second place in the awards' history. The awards, which recognize distinguished bloggers in the design, architecture and remodeling industries, featured 46 nominated blogs across six categories including: Architecture, Construction Business, Remodeling, Interior Design, Green and Microblog. The six winning bloggers receive a $500 prize and a JDR Blogger Awards Winner badge for display on their site.

Since its inception, the annual awards have expanded in reach and influence. The JDR Industry Blogger Awards attract thousands of votes for blogs of every size. The 2015 winners are:

Microblog: Products Hunter

Many previous blogger award winners returned to defend their title, and throughout the contest the votes were so close that the separation between first and second place was marginal.

"We are proud of and inspired by all the talented design, remodeling and architectural bloggers who participated in our contest this year. Each year we host these awards to recognize bloggers who represent our industry in an exceptional manner, so it was great to see such hard-fought competition."

The purpose of the JDR Blogger Awards is to recognize influential design, architecture and remodeling industry bloggers through fan participation. By giving the fans a voice, it reaffirms the quality content these bloggers produce.

"These bloggers impact the design world in a positive way, and we want to take the time to thank them for educating and inspiring consumers in a very relatable way. Congratulations to all the winners!" said Jackson.

Some winners choose to donate their winnings to community causes. BuildDirect, the 2015 winner in the Remodeling category, is using their prize to support their volunteer efforts in Vancouver, where the company is based.

"The winnings will help support our volunteers in many ways as they lend their time to causes in our city," said Rob Jones, BuildDirect's Blog Content Manager. "Making breakfast for those at a local shelter was the most recent activity that a group of us undertook. The next time we do something like that, we'll be able to buy more pancake mix!"

ProductsHunter, the 2015 winner in the Microblog category, has committed to donating their cash prize to their local Habitat for Humanity in Mid Ohio.
