FORT COLLINS, CO, April 21, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Matthew M. Harrington, Instructor of the Creative Arts, Design & Humanities Department at Front Range Community College, has been named a Worldwide Branding Professional of the Year in Higher Education. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.
Mr. Harrington has 15 years of professional experience, with seven years of experience as an instructor of Front Range Community College. Throughout his career, he has established himself as an expert in integrated technology design and instruction. On a weekly basis, he is responsible for creating handouts, grading assignments, and teaching a computerized drafting course. Mr. Harrington also is an instructor for Technical Drawing for Mechanical and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. In his spare time, Mr. Harrington also is an artist. He uses many different mediums from drawing/sketching to writing.
Looking back, Mr. Harrington attributes his success to three factors: his sense of self-belief, his ability to be an understanding and calm instructor, and the support he receives from his family and friends. He became involved in this profession through the efforts of a past instructor. She was head of the Integrated Technology Department at the time. Knowing that Mr. Harrington was already tutoring for Front Range Community College, she felt he would be an asset to the instructional team. The most gratifying aspect of his career is seeing his students succeed and excel by way of the lessons he teaches in the classroom.
Mr. Harrington received an Associate of Applied Science in Engineering Graphics Technology from Front Range Community College in 2000. In addition to his degree, he also holds a certification in AutoCAD from Front Range Community College. He is a member of the local chapter of a Lego User Group, and a lifetime member of the Handyman Club of America. In years to come, Mr. Harrington plans to pursue his art career further, along with a business opportunity which is currently in the making.
