Annual Laumeier Sculpture Park Art Fair Slated for Mother's Day Weekend

    ST. LOUIS, MO, April 23, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The annual Laumeier Sculpture Park Art Fair will be taking place at the park from Fri., May 8 through Sun., May 10 at Laumeier Sculpture Park, located at 12580 Rott Road near Sunset Hills.

Each year, more than 15,000 patrons attend this three-day event, which is held each Mother's Day weekend. It is a highly-anticipated event that features regional food vendors, a wine garden and beer tastings, live music, and 150 juried artists exhibiting work in ten different categories including ceramics, fiber and textiles, glass, jewelry, mixed media 2D, painting, photography and digital, printmaking and drawing, sculpture, and wood.

Artmart, the local art supply store, will also be donating two $250.00 gift cards for the Outstanding Local Artist winners.

"We are more than happy to provide these gift cards to the winners, whoever they may be," said Keith Baizer, owner of Artmart. "We enjoy giving back to the community and supporting the arts. What better way than to give to the hard-working artists for their amazing pieces?"

There will also be special events and activities to take place each day of the fair.

Art of the Ale, a special beer tasting and Q&A event, will be held Saturday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. The cost is $10 and includes unlimited samples of classic, seasonal, and special-release Schlafly beers.

On Sunday, families can enjoy a special Mother's Day Brunch, presented by Whole Foods. The brunch will take place from 10:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The brunch will include a plethora of drinks, quiche Lorraine, broccoli cheddar quiche, shrimp cocktail, assorted flatbread wraps, seasonal fresh fruit, fresh vegetable platter, market salad with field greens, assorted pastries, and fresh-baked bread. Space is limited, and tickets are $50 for ages 12 and up, $40 for Laumeier members, $15 for ages 6-11, and free for ages 5 and under.

The Annual Art Fair is a rain-or-shine event. Price of admission to the fair is $10 for ages 12 and up, $5 for ages 6-11, and free for ages 5 and under and for Laumeier members. Hours for the fair Fri., May 8 from 6 to 10 p.m., Sat., May 9 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sun., May 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
