SEATTLE, WA, April 28, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On May 4th, 2015, for the 3rd time in Seattle, Black Rock Spirits is hosting a pub crawl featuring live donkeys and a roving mariachi band. "Cuatro de Burro - The Battle of Puebla: French Apology Tour" is, as always, the day before Cinco de Mayo.
Sponsored by "The World's Most Historic Tequila" (Sparkle Donkey Tequila), Cuatro de Burro is a holiday to commemorate the journey of the donkey that bears the tequila's name. The event is open to the public, who are invited to join the pub crawl for drink specials at various watering holes accompanied by a 5-piece mariachi band and "noble donkeys" leading the route through Seattle's Ballard neighborhood. This year it falls on a Monday May 4th and starts at 5:30 p.m. sharp cross from NW Market & Barnes Ave NW.
The company will give out free sombreros OR French berets to the first 200 participants that sign up and show up. Interested parties can visit cuatrodeburro.com for the sign up and other details.
The alleged story behind the Cuatro de Burro holiday reads:
"Learn the true history of the day BEFORE the Battle of Puebla of 1862. Do your research and come prepared as either a Mexican national or French regular as we reveal the remarkable history behind the day before Cinco de Mayo. Join us as we re-enact the legendary journey of El Burro Esparkalo (aka The Sparkle Donkey) and make amends for French aggression... on the ORIGINAL holiday that made Cinco de Mayo possible: Cuatro de Burro*.
*Cuatro de Burro is allegedly the original holiday on which Cinco de Mayo, the popular US holiday is based... but it is much older, and therefore more important."
Black Rock Spirits is a small liquor company based in Seattle - founded in 2008 by three good friends, the company focuses on products that are fun and interesting, but above all high-quality.
